The difference between religion and faith is the difference between future and present. Religion is concerned with God's Plan. Faith is concerned with God's Present. Because of concern for the Plan, namely its execution, religion implies outward judgment, which leads to politics. Faith, on the other hand, with its focus on present truths, implies inward surrender, which leads to peace. Why does faith imply surrender? Because 'having faith' requires you to see something clearly in the moment. It is a movement away from the thinker and towards the witness. To silence your thoughts and simply see, in other words to intuit or perceive, requires you to lay down your weapon of resistance: the analytical mind that formulates judgments. Alternatively, when the analytical mind engages with the divine, the future comes into play- the Plan.
